According to EastEnders teasers for next week, Bobby Beale will be devastated when he discovers Anna Knight and Freddie Slater in a precarious situation before the consequences of her abortion.

Bobby Beale, played by Clay Milner Russell on EastEnders, has spoken out about the impending heartbreak for his character. Watchers will see a distraught Bobby the next week as he sees his best friend Freddie Slater make love to Anna Knight.

The drama takes place in Walford when Molly Rainford’s character, Anna, chooses to stop her pregnancy without telling her fiance Bobby. They are unaware that Freddie finds information on her abortion facility on her laptop, but he says nothing.

Later, Anna pleads with Freddie to keep the secret, saying that Bobby must never find out. Despite wanting to process everything alone, Anna goes through with the abortion and is surprised to see Freddie waiting for her at the clinic. Subsequently, they share an intimate moment back at The Vic, culminating in a kiss, just as Bobby walks in on them.

Discussing how his character grapples with the betrayal, actor Clay said: “Bobby is really shocked and deeply hurt. He feels stupid for not seeing this coming and assumes the worst and that Freddie and Anna have been carrying on behind his back for months. So, he’s really angry with them and feels stupid and embarrassed that this has happened to him again.”, reports the Daily Star.

He added that Bobby’s trust in his friendship group led him to believe such a scenario was unlikely: “Obviously, Freddie and Anna had a fling before, but I don’t think Bobby is suspicious that it might happen again. He’s very trusting and wants the three of them to spend lots of time together in this little friendship group.”

Clay, who plays Bobby, explained: “Maybe because of that, he hasn’t seen what’s going on and he doesn’t believe that Freddie would do something like that again. If anything, what’s going on in Bobby’s mind is that he doesn’t deserve to be with someone like Anna.”

Freddie rushes after Bobby, who accuses him of getting Anna pregnant. As Martin Fowler (James Bye) restrains Bobby, Anna arrives and insists this is not what he thinks.

As Bobby and Anna storm into the Beale house mid-argument, all hell breaks loose. Bobby later turns to dad Ian Beale (Adam Woodyat) for advice. Clay added: “Bobby and Ian’s relationship has taken a turn for the better, even though Cindy [Beale] being in the house is pretty problematic.

However, Ian seems to have properly let go of what happened with Lucy [Beale] and doesn’t blame Bobby anymore.

He just wants to support his son and be a good father. Given what Ian has been through with his relationships, he can probably give Bobby some good advice.
