Tammin Sursok, a former cast member of Home and Away, has claimed that her daughter’s Nashville school was placed on lockdown when a shooter opened fire at the school right next door.

Sursok, who explains the unfolding “nightmare” in a series of Instagram videos, posted them after moving to the US city with her husband, Sean McEwan, and their two kids.

The 39-year-old woman claimed that her nine-year-old daughter Phoenix’s school, The Covenant School, was directly across the street from where the shooting occurred.

In one of the Greenhills schools in Nashville, there has been an active shooter, according to Sursok.

It is immediately adjacent to my daughter’s school. She is being guarded. She is okay.

“I know it’s near to home for many of you, but it’s really close to home.

“I’m aware that many women are currently shaking and in complete convulsions.

You always assume it won’t happen to you, so it just amazes me that it keeps occurring.

The shooter who opened fire at the Covenant School, murdering three students and three staff members, has been named as a woman, 28-year-old Audrey Hale.

Police shot and killed Hale there and then.

Sursok stated in a subsequent video that she was unsure about what to do when she learned that Phoenix’s school was on lockdown.

She asked, “Should we go to the school or should we wait until they let us know they’re out of lockdown?”

“It’s just incredibly difficult to comprehend that this occurs so frequently.

“I can’t even let my mind wander there; it’s just too difficult to think of.”

Sursok wrote a lengthy and passionate essay about the shooting and her views on gun control later.

The message was accompanied by a photo of her and her kid wearing “Love More”-emblazoned blouses.

She added, “Our community in Nashville is in shock,” and included a trigger warning.

“The families affected by this unfathomable tragedy are in my thoughts and prayers.

“Today I received a call that, while living in the USA, I had never anticipated to receive.

Lockdown at my daughter’s school. There was a shooting in progress someplace.

Initially, according to Sursok, she was unaware of all the specifics or the location of the shooter, but she was aware that it was close to her daughter’s location.

She called it “a parent’s worst nightmare.”

As you’ve just seen on the television, a 28-year-old woman murdered adults and children at a school in Nashville.

“My daughter’s school was close by and that school was right around the corner.

“When these heinous acts occur, the common refrain is: “Don’t get political; this is not the moment; humans kill people, not firearms.

“I decry BS.

“…assault guns are used by people who commit acts of mass destruction.

“Why do we provide civilians in the USA with access to weapons of mass destruction?

“Why do we market firearms that can fire hundreds of rounds per second?

“Read that phrase once more.

“Hundreds of shots in a split second.”

Sursok continued, pointing out that at the age of 18, a person can purchase an AR-15 (semi-automatic rifle) in the majority of American states.

The AR-15 and other military-style weapons are not intended for sport or hunting, she said.

It’s designed to murder people. a large number of people at once.

“How is this acceptable? Please give me an explanation.

Sursok claimed to be “at a loss,” angry, and numb.

“Parties on both sides must come together. What side you are on doesn’t matter to me, she added.

“We can unite and AGREE to protect our kids’ safety AND maintain America’s freedom and its constitution.

We can complete BOTH!

“You are aware that this is absurd. You are aware that this is abnormal.

“You know kids shouldn’t live like this in fear.”

The supporters of Sursok flocked in large numbers.

It only took one significant incident—the 1996 Port Arthur massacre—for Australia to realize that lives, not guns, as one commenter put it.

Absolutely terrible, another person wrote.

A third person stated, “Whenever I’m in the US, I always consider the possibility that every person I pass by is carrying a gun.

Cannot picture having to deal with this thinking every day.

“You’re right; it’s time for a change in the firearms laws. I’m sending love your way.
