Coronation Street Jamie Baldwin star unrecognisable after ditching fame to be pub landlord

Former Coronation Street actor Rupert Hill, who is best known for playing hunky Jamie Baldwin, looks very different now 20 years after his soap debut on the famous ITV show

Following a significant career transition, Coronation Street beauty Rupert Hill is completely unrecognizable.

The ITV soap opera Jamie Baldwin, which the actor portrayed from 2004 to 2008 and again in 2011, was his most well-known role. Jamie was the grandson of Mike Baldwin, played by the late actor Johnny Briggs, and the son of Danny Baldwin, played by TV legend Bradley Walsh.

Jamie was well-known for his good looks and baby face features. He dated several ladies on the well-known street, such as Maria Sutherland and Leanne Battersby. However, actor Rupert looks considerably different these days.

With his long beard and gray hair, Rupert has given up on his boyish appearance. The TV personality, formerly recognized for his thick, light brown hair, now sports slicked back hair.

It’s not just Rupert’s stunning appearance that could surprise fans, though. The former cast member of Corrie has left the spotlight to work as a pub landlord.

The celebrity may not have had the chance to buy the renowned Rovers Return during his acting career, but in real life, he now owns a bar in Manchester. Rupert revealed the news on Instagram recently.

“Taking over #lloyds in Chorlton with @jbfotografick,” he said on Twitter. Launching this Thursday, with a major renovation planned for September. I’m going to build a stunning bar with a fantastic live music area and event space! More information will be available soon.”

Fans might not be surprised by Rupert’s amazing appearance alone, though. The former Corrie cast member has stepped away from the spotlight to become a landlord of a bar.

Though the star’s acting career may not have allowed him to purchase the coveted Rovers Return, he now owns a tavern in Manchester. Recently, Rupert shared the news on Instagram.

“Taking over #lloyds in Chorlton with @jbfotografick,” he posted to Twitter. launching on Thursday and slated for a significant makeover in September. I’m going to construct a gorgeous bar along with an amazing live music section and event space! Soon, more details will be accessible.”

While another penned: “Excellent news! See you in there.”

Rupert’s new venue is the second pub that he’s taken over to renovate in Manchester with his pal, Jonny Booth. The TV star previously saw success with his bar The Parlour.

Talking to the Manchester Evening News about the venture, he said: “‘From day one, we’ve found this shared passion for taking weary and underperforming pubs with bags of potential and breathing new life into them, bringing them back into the community, creating places that people love to be in. It’s always felt like a worthwhile endeavour.”
