Corrie’s DS Swain is continuing to crack the case of missing Lauren Bolton but actress Vicky Myers actually starred on the soap nearly 30 years ago alongside a cobbles legend

Fans are starting to love DS Swain on Coronation Street, but it turns out that actress Vicky Myers was a longtime soap opera star.

In 2021, the copper made her cobbles debut. She was first featured in the Seb Franklin death plot, where she assisted in heading the investigation.

Fans will remember, nevertheless, that this year Lauren (Cait Fritton) disappeared from the well-known cobbles. And it didn’t take long for others to start questioning his disappearance.

Being the first on the scene, Swain got to work quickly opening her investigation, and she hasn’t stopped looking for her since. However, in an unexpected development, Lauren’s murder is now thought to have occurred.

What’s more, soap icon Roy Cropper (David Neilson) has become DS Swain’s top suspect, and last week the cobbles alum was arrested for her murder.

But it turns out this isn’t the first time actress Vicky has appeared on the famous street. The blonde bombshell starred on the soap nearly 30 years ago.

In a new interview, Vicky revealed she worked on Corrie as a “supporting artist.” What’s more, she got the chance to work alongside a cobbles legend too. She told TV Times magazine: “I was the nurse when Des Barnes (played by Philip Middlemiss) died in 1998.

“I was able to watch Denise Welch (who played Des’ wife, Natalie), get into the zone, because obviously she had to cry. There’s no amount of money in the world that can buy you that kind of experience.”

It comes after the actress has teased that viewers will be introduced to her teenager daughter in upcoming scenes. She added to the TV times how DS Swain is a “single mum.”

Vicky also let slip they are in the process of casting her 16-year-old daughter. And according to the actress, “the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.”

Back in March, Vicky told Daily Star and other press, that the character DS Swain is gay. When asked if her character could find love on the soap in the future, she replied: “So I think for Swain she perhaps has seen somebody that’s caught her eye. But at the moment she’s far too busy with focusing on this investigation.”
