The reason behind Nish Panesar’s unexpected return to Walford has been revealed by EastEnders.
Monday’s episode of the BBC One soap opera ended with Nish (Navin Chowdhry) declaring that he is dying and has come back to Walford to be with his family.
Nish declared at the beginning of Tuesday’s episode that he had a virus that was killing him and making him terminally ill by causing his heart to fail.
He tried to win over his sons, Vinny Panesar (Shiv Jalota) and Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara), as well as his ex-wife Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal), but no one showed sympathy for him and everyone assumed he was lying. Then Nish was compelled to leave his old house again.
Afterwards, Nish stopped by the cafe to see how Bernadette Taylor (Clair Norris) was doing and to offer his sympathies on her brother Keanu Taylor’s (Danny Walters) passing.
Nothing is more important than family, Bernie urged Nish to keep going.
Nish also made an effort to win over Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy), Ravi’s ex and former ally, but she was likewise unimpressed and quickly got reinforcement from Ravi when he arrived.
After listening in on Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega) and tracking down his grandson, Nish went to McKlunky’s and requested to speak with Davinder “Nugget” Gulati (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury). It seemed as though Nish was wishing he was a man in order to have a conversation with his grandfather.
But when Ravi heard them talking, he became enraged with Nish and even slammed him against the wall. This appeal to Nugget was cut short.
Then Nugget heard Nish clutching his chest on the ground as he keeled over in excruciating pain, pleading with his father to call an ambulance.
Suki appeared at the hospital with her son Vinny while the family was waiting to hear from the physicians.
At that point, a medical professional verified that Nish was telling the truth about being terminally ill and that, despite being diagnosed with viral myocarditis, his heart was failing more quickly than expected.
The physician informed Nish that he would not have much time to live if he didn’t receive a heart transplant, which is an extremely rare procedure.
Suki seemed slightly amused by the shock, but Nish was devastated to hear that he was dying soon. The rest of the family appeared shocked by the news.
Regarding Nish, will the Panesars remain unified, or will this news cause everything to change?
As the week goes on, it becomes evident that this is not the case since talk of Nish takes over Suki’s soulmate Eve Unwin’s (Heather Peace) birthday celebrations.
