After being a part of the BBC soap for almost ten years, an EastEnders legend has spoken out about being fired by the soap’s executives.
Lorraine Stanley, who plays Karen Taylor in the BBC soap opera EastEnders, has commented on getting fired after seven years.

Although she admitted she is sad to be leaving Walford, the 47-year-old actress is open to joining a competing soap.

When Lorraine opened up about the moment she learned she was getting fired, she said: “I was sad, it was a mix of emotions. It’s sad, but it’s exciting because now I can go and do what I want.

“There, you can become a little more at ease and relaxed. I want to push myself beyond my comfort level.

Continuing her interview with The Sun, she said: “I just want people to remember her as the best mum on the square, a heart of gold, she’d give you her last fiver and would do anything for her kids – a bit like myself.”

Would I consider a competing soap opera? she added when asked about the future. If I did, Corrie and I would have to be the new landlords, in my opinion.

“I’d be Bernie’s sister and Gemma’s [Winter’s] aunt. I would become a member of their family and run The Rovers.

In the near future, if the chance arose, might we see the actress strolling through Weatherfield?

As fans have been making predictions about who will die this Christmas for months, it appears that Lorraine is not the only EastEnders celebrity leaving the show.

Fans of the BBC soap opera know that a mysterious male character will pass away this holiday season, and one of six females is suspected of being the murderer.

The startling event was hinted at earlier this year in a flashforward.
In the flashforward from February, a man was seen lying dead on a pub floor, and Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) and Denise Fox (Diane Parish) could be seen with blood on their hands.

Letitia Dean’s portrayal of Sharon Watts confirmed the death of the enigmatic figure by checking his pulse.

Who is the victim and how is it accountable? The episode will air during the soap opera’s Christmas special.
