With its current Theo Hawthrone storyline, EastEnders has taken a dark turn. It appears that other Albert Square residents are also making drastic decisions, with Rocky Cotton planning to break a few promises.

Rocky Cotton from EastEnders, played by Brian Conley, will soon become embroiled in yet another lie.

official BBC soap opera spoilers are revealed Rocky and Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) are approached by Dorian Gates (Luke J. I. Smith) to persuade them to attend the Pie, Pint and Fight night, but they decline.

Rocky, however, sneaks away to make a wager during a game of darts at The Vic.

He receives a tip from George Knight (Colin Salmon) and wagers a sizeable sum of money on the fight.

When Harvey shows up, he reprimands Rocky for breaking his vow to abstain from gambling, but Rocky dismisses his concerns.

Fans will be aware that despite his best intentions, Rocky frequently takes unnecessary chances despite promising his wife Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) he would stop.

Since then, Kathy has learned other secrets he had been hiding, like the fact he wasn’t divorced from his first wife, and she almost left him when he gambled away their honeymoon.

Rocky’s departure from the soap opera was recently announced; could this latest lie have anything to do with it?

Rocky might intensify his gambling behavior and even become addicted.

Could Kathy find this to be too much to handle, leading to the couple’s breakup and Rocky’s departure?

Brian, the Rocky star, recently denied rumors that his departure from the soap was the result of a bitter “feud” with BBC executives.

It looks as though he’s just not enjoying being on EastEnders anymore, an insider told The Sun last month.

“Everything has come to a head, and at the National TV Awards last week, he was fairly open about his exit with co-stars and friends.

Brian has addressed the rumors since the news of his departure broke, saying it was a “tough decision” to leave.

He wrote: “Hello lovely people, it’s me Brian Conley aka Rocky, sending out this message, especially to all the EastEnders fans,” on his Instagram page.

“Now, you might have heard rumors that I’m leaving EastEnders. It was a difficult choice, but I’m leaving, and I did so for a variety of reasons.

“I loved my three years there, but it is difficult because there is such a wonderful crowd in front of and behind the camera.

Regarding the reports’ veracity, some claim that although I didn’t fight or rant, I did have a disagreement with TV executives and the crew.

He continued: “They will probably report on this now, saying I have had a ranting about ranting – but I am not ranting.”
