Over the past year, a number of well-known characters from the ITV soap opera have made their way back to the village, and it looks like one more may be making a reappearance in the upcoming weeks.

Fans of the ITV soap opera Emmerdale are in for a treat, as rumors are circulating that a beloved character will be returning. This comes amid mounting doubts regarding newcomer Ella Forster (played by Paula Lane).

Ella arrived in the village earlier this year and quickly got a job at the neighborhood doctor’s office. As soon as she took on her new role, she started to make out with Johnny McPherson’s character, Dr. Liam Cavanagh.

But after Liam’s affair with Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) became public a few weeks after she revealed her breast cancer diagnosis, the atmosphere rapidly deteriorated. The GP was divided between the two women over the next few weeks.

In the end, though, he decided to go after a relationship with Ella instead of letting his feelings for Chas fade. The receptionist becomes the talk of the town when the couple decides to move in together and intensifies their relationship.

Mandy (Lisa Riley) finds a childhood photo of Ella when they are moving. The blonde beauty snatches the photo out of her hand right away and sidesteps any inquiries about her background.

Viewers will see her leave the village at the end of the week to visit someone who lives in an assisted living facility. The Daily Star decided to test Gemini, one of the most “creative” AI systems in the world, to help unravel the mystery since there was a lot of conjecture online about who she might be visiting.

The show has raised rumors about an unknown guest, implying that Diane Sugden (Elizabeth Estensen) might be the one getting visited. It said: “It is possible Ella Forster could visit Diane Sugden at a retirement community on the show.”

Adding to the suspense, it stated: “Diane Sugden did return for Emmerdale’s 50th anniversary, leaving the possibility of future appearances open. A visit between Ella and Diane at a retirement community could offer interesting story development.”

For more than 20 years, the actress has played a major role in the show, including 17 years as the renowned Woolpack landlady.

She made an emotional announcement on the show’s departure in September 2021, writing: “I have loved playing Diane Sugden for the past 22 years; she is kind, dependable, and fiercely loyal.

But I feel like it’s time to say goodbye now. I will always hold a special place for Emmerdale. I’ve had the best friends and coworkers, both past and present, and I’ve always been treated with dignity and kindness. I will really miss all of you.”
