In an earlier episode of Emmerdale, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) and Gail (Rachael Gill-Davis) bet that Charity could arrange a date with the person who entered the Woolpack next. It turned out to be GP Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson), who was once again unmarried and free following the termination of his affair with Wendy (Susan Cookson).

Liam was unable to stop Charity as she sprang into action. After initially becoming slightly frightened by her overt flirtation, he began to loosen up and even admitted to Cain (Jeff Hordley) that he could see himself falling for her after a date with Charity at the Hide.

Charity informed Gail that Liam was not at all her type and that she would end up walking all over him, so the feelings are definitely not reciprocal.

To demonstrate that she doesn’t care about Mackenzie (Lawrence Robb) and Chloe (Jessie Elland) getting engaged, Charity chooses to use Liam once more in upcoming episodes. With the GP, she tries her charm once more and demands a date for that evening.

Unfortunately, they have decided to hold the event at a B&B. As he directs the pair to their table, Bob (Tony Audenshaw) is cold with Liam since he still hasn’t forgave the doctor for having an affair with Wendy.

Even though the evening is off to a less than ideal start, things quickly spiral out of control when Mack and Chloe show up to celebrate their engagement, and Bob places them at the table next to Charity and Liam.

The mood is not at all best described as “awkward.” Everyone tries to make the best of the situation, but Charity is secretly furious that her ex is portraying the devoted fiancé at the table next to her. Charity only recently had a sexual encounter with her ex on the day of his son’s christening.

Poor Liam gets caught in the crossfire as Charity’s composure quickly evaporates, and she ends up venting her annoyance on him by yelling at him for the crime of simply being there or him.

Will Charity get very far? Will she ultimately reveal Mackenzie’s dishonest behavior there in the B&B?

Could this be the point at which the Charity/Mack/Chloe love triangle unravels as it builds to a tremendous and dramatic finale for Super Soap Week?
