The time is now for someone else to take over and learn how to manage Sonny’s ship. After all, the guy can’t keep doing it forever! But does she truly want her firstborn son to be the one to succeed him someday?

It might allow Michael some time to think things through when Willow realizes that his goals have changed and that he is now attempting to defend his father rather than kill him, but she will eventually expect him to hand the torch down.

Despite Michael’s conviction that he is doing morally, Willow is unlikely to share this opinion. Is Carly wishing for Michael to take Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) place, or is that even possible?

As Willow learns more about Carly’s involvement in this scheme, her opinion of her will change. Michael was convinced that he had to join the family business or let his entire family suffer when Carly first brought up the notion.

When Carly’s selfish side is revealed to Willow, a side that others have mentioned but that Willow had previously rejected, Willow won’t be able to conceal her dismay.

Carly’s actions will make Willow wonder about her values, and she might suddenly feel disconnected from the one remaining mother figure in her life.

Willow’s resentment of Carly will be fully exploited by Nina as a chance to connect with her – at last. Nina might be aware that Willow is having second thoughts about Carly’s decisions and be willing to become closer to someone who shares those views.
