The emotional tribute video for Gogglebox star Di Kershaw.

At the conclusion of the episode, the Gogglebox narrator said, “Tonight, we pay tribute to our Beloved Di.”

The video added, “Di always knew how to leave her mark, from our very first episode.”
Nothing was more enjoyable for them than watching high-quality television with their 50-year-old husband, Mick.
“Being in every season, we got to know Mick and Di very well… Di was never hesitant to speak her views, whether it was in articulate criticism or thought-provoking dialogue.”
We at Gogglebox and your extended family of Australian fans will miss you dearly. “Thank you, Mick and Di, for sparing a seat for us on your couch every week,” we said.

Fans immediately praised the moving homage on social media and shared their own thoughts of gratitude to Di.

One fan stated, “It’s no secret how talented the editors on #GoggleboxAU are, but they did their absolute best work on the tribute to Di.”

The “tribute to Di was extremely moving,” said one other. We won’t forget you. She may now rest in peace, and what a lovely tribute, said another. I was crying.

Since the show’s debut in 2015, Mick and Di have been a favourite among Gogglebox viewers, who adore Di’s concise TV critiques.

The pair only missed one season since they chose to sequester themselves when Covid was going on.

After a brief battle with throat cancer, Di died in July.

The pair, who lived in Sydney and sold Indigenous art, had been married for almost 50 years.

Off-screen, Di was also honoured when she was awarded an Order of Australia Medal in 2020 as part of the Queen’s Birthday Honours for her contributions to the visual arts.

Di has given artworks under the Cultural Gifts Program of the Australian Government, served as an ambassador and guide for the Museum of Contemporary Art, and served as a consultant for the Australian Art Network and a mentor to women in the arts.

She was the second Gogglebox Australia cast member to pass away, following Stuart Kidd in 2018.
