Kate Ritchie, an actor and radio host, recently made a shocking statement about her future on Nova’s Kate, Tim, and Joel Drive Show.

After a “hectic” year, the former soap star, 43, announced in an emotional Instagram message on Thursday that she would be leaving the radio program.

She informed her followers that she was taking a sabbatical in order to give herself and her family “more time to re-energise.”

She has promised to return to the show in 2023, so her hiatus will only be temporary.

“This past year has been crazy for my family and I, as some of you may have heard from me on the show today.

Like many of you, I’ve experienced a lot of change in a short period of time, and it’s taken a toll,” she wrote in her essay.

So, in order to give myself and my family more time to reenergize, I’ve decided to take a brief break.

She also gave appreciation to the crew who worked on her Nova show.

“I am very happy that our Nova show is continuing to grow and succeed thanks to Tim, Joel, and the team. You, our listeners, are dear to us and seem to put up with us. In the coming year, I’ll be back on Nova’s Kate, Tim, & Joel Drive Show.

“I want to thank the crew, Nova, and all of our wonderful listeners for their help and patience. Despite the fact that it will only be for a short while, I shall miss you all. In 2023, we’ll play a game of Quick Draw together.

Ritchie described the “hectic” year that left her in need of a sabbatical in a formal statement posted to the Nova website.

As you may have expected, she remarked, “I put a lot of emotional energy into everything I do, especially my career and my family. Over the past few months, I’ve worked on radio, returned to TV, and in my leisure time, I even published a children’s book.”

“So, it’s really simply that, like some of you, I assume, I’m exhausted and could use a brief break to reenergize myself and my family. As we near the end of the year, the Nova CEOs that I spoke with kindly agreed that now would be a good time to take a break.

Peter Charlton, the CEO of Nova Entertainment, endorsed Ritchie’s decision to take a long hiatus.

He declared in a statement, “Kate is a gifted broadcaster and a respected part of the Kate, Tim & Joel and Nova Network teams.”

“Kate’s decision to take some time off for herself and her family has our full support. We are forward to have her return in the following year.
