EXCLUSIVE: Home and Away star Kirsty Marillier has played Rose Delaney since 2022, but the actress already appeared in the Channel 5 soap as a different role back in 2018

Before getting the role of Rose Delaney on the Australian soap opera, Home and Away star Kirsty Marillier portrayed a different character.

The 33-year-old actress made her acting debut in 2022 as police officer Rose and was introduced as Xander Delaney’s half-sister by Luke Van Os.

However, Kirsty’s first encounter with Summer Bay didn’t begin there because she also made an appearance as a background extra during the wedding of Brodie Morgan (Jackson Heywood) and Ziggy Astoni (Sophie Dillman).

The brunette beauty recalls getting the little guest part before being brought back as a new character in an exclusive interview with Daily Star.

“I got that role and it was a two day guest role. I only had one line but I actually can’t remember what it was,” Kirsty explained.

“And then four or five years went past and I did Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Then I came back to Sydney and I was auditioning again for Home and Away.

She continued: “I was like, ‘I guess it’s not a problem that I was another character’.

It’s strange because you frequently assume that if you appear on a TV show, you’ll return as that role, but I returned as someone entirely different.

“I’ve changed a lot and I look quite different from the person that was on the show,” the South African celebrity continued.

“I feel like I did a good job when I came in 2018, and I appreciate that they invited me back,” the speaker said.

Kirsty opened up about working on the Home and Away set, insisting it’s “incredible” and credited the crew for their professionalism.

“It’s such an incredible set to be on,” she gushed. “We work with three cameras and sometimes have lots of extras.

“Everyone’s really professional and it’s such an amazing learning ground. I feel really stoked to be here and for this to be my job every day.”
