The Summer Bay star had long hair as a teenager.

Theo Poulos, who he currently plays on Home and Away, and his brief appearance on The Voice in 2020 are what Matt Evans is best known for. Since his first appearance on television, the 25-year-old star has maintained his curly brown hair short.

When the musician posted a photo from when he was just 19 years old, fans were shocked because they assumed he looked entirely different. The star genuinely had shoulder-length hair prior to his debut on television.

“Cannot believe my hair looked like this,” Matt wrote on his Instagram story, followed by a laughing emoji.

In the photo, the actor has his hair loose and wears an open white button-down shirt over a plain white t-shirt. He stands next to a friend and both hold red plastic cups.

In Matt’s left hand, he is seen holding a cheap box of Golden Oak wine, commonly referred to as a ‘goon bag’.

Then he posted a screenshot of a dialogue he had with his Home and Away co-star Adam Rowland, who portrays band member Remi Carter.

The goon backpack makes it happen for me. Adam answered Matt’s narrative.

Matt responded, “Yes @adam.rowland, I was 19 and drank goon because I was poor.

On social media, the old image received a ton of attention from fans, many of whom gushed about how gorgeous it was.

One person commented, “Suits you mate,” and another added, “Such a great picture.”

“Until about two or three years ago, my eldest son had hair like that, only much longer, and he always adored it. Love the tresses,” said a third.

“Goodness gracious!” Yet another exclaimed, “I adore it.

A fan added, “People would kill for your hair.”

Matt breaks silence on mass exodus

This comes after the West Australian actress admitted to Yahoo Lifestyle that losing a cast member can be difficult. Popular actors Patrick O’Connor (Dean Thompson), Kawakawa Fox-Reo (Nikau Parata), Sophie Dillman (Ziggy Astoni), and Courtney Miller (Bella Nixon) all departed the soap opera this year.

The younger actors frequently come and go somewhat fast, although long-standing cast members Ray Meagher (Alf Stewart), Lynne McGranger (Irene Roberts), Ada Nicodemou (Leah Patterson), Emily Symons (Marilyn Chambers), and Georgie Parker (Roo Stewart) are unlikely to depart anytime soon.

The actors and writers decide how long to extend a new character’s stay in Summer Bay after the soap opera typically contracts them for three years.

It’s like high school because so many individuals would come and go from the show, he said. If I were to leave the show, it would be similar to graduating from high school and having to say goodbye to everyone.

He revealed that the cast and staff gather briefly to bid farewell to any members who are leaving the show. During this time, people are permitted to make a brief speech to honor their time spent working on the program.

“That part is really sad, but it’s also really exciting when someone new comes,” he acknowledged. “With people coming and going, it’s an emotional rollercoaster, and you just have to keep navigating your relationships around that.”
