The past few episodes of THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS have been incredibly tense, as the Abbott family staged an intervention for Ashley because of her odd actions of late. Of course, the family doesn’t know that she is suffering from split personalities, and as the Abbotts confronted her about her blackouts and erratic behavior, Ashley’s alters were battling it out for control in her mind. The outstanding episode concluded with the real Ashley, exhausted, retreating to her bedroom to rest and big sister Traci following her upstairs to comfort her.

As the sisters reminisced about their early years, Traci tenderly put Ashley to bed at the end of the show. Beth Maitland, who played Traci, said that she gave the poignant moment she had with her TV sister Eileen Davidson a very personal touch. The gifted quilter utilized one of her exquisitely made quilts for the poignant scene! In today’s program, Maitland confirmed on Instagram that it was her quilt. “I was kindly allowed to bring in a few to choose from by the show.”

In the episode, Traci was in awe of the quilt she had sewed for her younger sister’s celebration a long time ago. Ashley was informed by Traci, “I made it for your 21st birthday.” “I didn’t know you still owned it!” In real life, Maitland has made her passion for sewing into a successful company, using her Drama Queen Bee Etsy shop to sell quilts, table mats, and other homemade goods.

“Worlds colliding is always so much fun,” Maitland wrote. “I’ve been sisters with Eileen for almost 42 years.” The actress also gave the writing and directing teams of Y&R credit for how well they handled the sensitive situations. “Thank you to Steve Williford for the deft directing and Lindsay Harrison for the lovely writing.”

Unsurprisingly, fans were gushing about the emotional encounter Maitland shared with her co-star in their comments on her post. Davidson herself made a remark in one instance. And you have my sisterly affection! You’ve done some incredible stuff. And I appreciate you being my rock both on and off the screen.

Keep an eye out for additional updates as Ashley struggles with her dissociative identity disorder; we’re sure there will be plenty between these two sisters!
