Maura West Reveals How Ava Really Feels About Austin on GH

On GENERAL HOSPITAL, Ava is stuck between a brick wall and a hard place. When she thought she had killed Nikolas, Austin discovered her and offered to help her hide her crime. Their relationship has now become more complicated as a result of being forced to stick together while his cousin Mason blackmails them into doing his bidding.

Ava’s Maura West told Soap Opera Digest, “When someone knows a dark secret, in her words, you either have to kill them or you’re sort of at their mercy.” She has those choices, after all. And in a way, she is at his mercy. Additionally, the cousin is at Mason’s mercy.

Ava and Austin are now navigating a twisted new relationship after moving beyond being just partners in crime to becoming something more after they unexpectedly fell into bed together. Regarding their night together, West affirmed, “Yeah, she wasn’t expecting that. She isn’t prepared for that kind of relationship. She’s unsure of whether she wants that connection. However, you must admit that Roger Howarth, who enters Austin, has a certain allure.

While West and Howarth, who played Carly and Paul, respectively, for years on the CBS soap opera AS THE WORLD TURNS, have chemistry on GH, it’s not yet clear whether Ava and Austin’s relationship has any kind of real future. Is he truly in love with her, or is he just using her for his own gain? She still finds him to be somewhat mysterious, West acknowledged. She has a limited understanding of who he is. Why is he acting the way he is? How does he owe Mason anything? She still finds a lot of that information mysterious, and there is definitely something intriguing about that.
