EXCLUSIVE: ITV’s new reality show Drama Queens kicked off last week and follows the lives of several soap actresses – but now it seems one star could be set to bag her own series

A soap opera beauty might be invited to host her own reality program if Drama Queens on ITV proved to be a hit.

The lives of some of the most well-known soap opera actresses are followed in this brand-new ITV series, which debuted last week. The most well-known figures from Hollyoaks, Corrie, and Emmerdale have gathered for the behind-the-scenes presentation.

Laura Norton, Brooke Vincent, Rita Simons, Amy Walsh, Ellie Leach, Jorgie Porter, Roxy Shahidi, Jamelia, and Lucy Fallon are among the famous cast members. The celebrities will let fans inside their private lives and share with them their activities outside of the soap opera industry.

In the first episode, viewers saw Lucy Fallon, who plays Bethany Platt, clash with her beau Ryan Ledson over wanting more children. Meanwhile, Corrie star Ellie Leach also made an appearance – where she broke down in tears over a previous five-year relationship.

And it appears that one of the Drama Queens’ stars may be getting her own reality show after the show’s success. A PR specialist told Daily Star exclusively that “it makes complete sense” that a certain soap beauty may land her own show.

“There is potential for several stars to land an individual reality show once the series wraps,” stated Dom Aldworth, Head of Brand Marketing at Slingo. Nonetheless, it’s evident that Ellie Leach’s personal narrative and general candor in front of the cameras are already striking a chord with the public.

The expert pointed out that during Ellie’s time as Faye Windass on Corrie, viewers have already developed “a long-standing relationship” with her. Since she was ten years old, Ellie has taken on the job.

Dom continued: “After she won Strictly Come Dancing in 2023, we got to know her outside of her breakthrough role. Her grounded demeanor won over both young and old audiences.

But Ellie’s “personal story” since joining Drama Queens, the expert continued, is what has “really made her connect with viewers.”

Dom clarified: “She’s been quite open on camera in just the first episode, talking about how press intrusion affected her mental health and how her five-year relationship with her long-term partner ended when he cheated on her. Something involving her mother that we witnessed her become really emotional about on tape.

He went on to say that “scenes like these” are what “make her connect” with viewers and “resonate” with them. Dom continued, saying, “It makes perfect sense that Ellie could be in the running for a spin-off show once the series ends, given her bright future and the significant boost in her profile that followed her Strictly victory.”
