According to spoilers for The Young and the Restless, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) is unable to express gratitude. Adam wants to get what he thinks he deserves, hence the constant attacks on his father.

Adam was never abandoned, despite what Grossman’s character says about Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). Hope Wilson (Signy Coleman) made the decision to return to her farm in Kansas after deciding she did not want to raise her son in Genoa City, Wisconsin.

Adam was not made aware of the sale of the original Newman Media to Newman Enterprises.

Victor pulled a bait and switch at that point in the story, so Adam had a point.

But the company was founded with Victor’s resources and concepts. He did that to give his son, who was often restless, a make-work project.

Victor also wanted to determine whether Adam could behave in a businesslike manner as opposed to the egocentric manner in which so many others claim he behaves.

Adam didn’t pass the test when he went against Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon Rosales’ (Sharon Case) wishes, and his scheme to run the new Newman Media wasn’t practical.

Sharon had a good thought. She desired to leave the business She was left by Cameron Kirsten (Linden Ashby) in his will, and he used it to good effect.

But Sharon’s plans were complicated by Adam’s antics. He has feelings for Sharon that he claims to love. However, his bizarre tendencies overrode the respect he ought to have shown.

Adam asserted that Nick was fine with his bigger brother watching out for him. But nobody ever saw Nick as a mentor.

Victor was hoped to use the familial connection as a useful tool, but Adam once more insulted it.

Adam’s father is wealthy, therefore he doesn’t need to work to make a living. Without Victor, Adam would probably be involved in a number of business deals where he would try to pull one over on his perceived targets.

Victor has come to the point in his life when he understands that help is required. Since Hope’s passing, managing Adam by me has been difficult.

The patriarch of the Newman family is still intelligent, but his energy level is lower than it used to be. Victor places more and more value on his family and his history.
