Michael Parr, a former Emmerdale cast member, will make a comeback on television in ITV’s The Long Shadow, which premieres on September 25.

Ross Barton, a naughty lad who spent an explosive five years in the village, will be remembered by Emmerdale fans.

Ross had a number of lovers during that period, including Donna Dingle, Debbie Dingle, and Charity Dingle (there’s a theme here), but he eventually left the village with Rebecca White and her son Seb.

Ross was involved in several intense plots, such as affairs, heists, and even a contentious dog-kidnapping scheme.

One of his most terrifying plots saw him suffer an acid attack after his ex-girlfriend Debbie hired someone to beat up Joe Tate, but they hired the incorrect man.

Mike left the role of Ross Barton in 2018, but we will soon see him again on television.

Mike has joined the cast of the upcoming drama The Long Shadow, which compassionately focuses on the lives of the victims who came into contact with serial killer Peter Sutcliffe and those of the policemen at the center of the police investigation. The Long Shadow follows the tale of the five-year search for Sutcliffe.

The cast of the show is outstanding, and Mike is not the only former soap opera star who will be showing up.

On Instagram, Mike posted a still from the trailer that featured him dressed as the lovable Becky McDonald alongside Coronation Street actress and seasoned television personality Katherine Kelly.

Sammy Winward, who is best known for playing Katie Sugden in the Yorkshire-based soap opera Emmerdale, and Charley Webb, who played Debbie’s on-screen love interest, are also among his old Emmerdale co-stars with whom he reunites.

Rob James-Collier, who played Liam Connor on Coronation Street, is also a member of the cast. Jill Halfpenny, a veteran of EastEnders and Corrie, will play Doreen Hill, the mother of one of Sutcliffe’s victims.

One fan wrote on Mike’s Instagram post: “Really looking forward to this.” Other fans expressed their extreme excitement for Mike’s return to television.

Another person commented, “Can’t wait to see this,” and a third said, “Awww great one Mike! I’m excited to watch this.”

Amy Walsh, who just made a comeback in her Tracy Metcalfe role on Emmerdale, expressed her pleasure over the casting as well.

I’m really excited for this! Good job, baby. I had no idea you’d done that.
