Over the past few months, Victoria Sugden has been in a good place in Emmerdale, but it appears that everything is going to change abruptly.
In the Emmerdale television series, Matthew Wolfenden’s character David Metcalfe is determined to reconcile with Isabel Hodgins’ Victoria Sugden, his ex-girlfriend.
Victoria learned David had let her take the blame for his speeding offense last year, and the pair broke up.
Victoria quickly dumped the shopkeeper because of his egotistical attitude and has since continued living her life.
In upcoming scenes, David confesses his rekindled affections for Victoria to his stepson Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant).
Jacob, however, is not at all pleased about it. Why would he be so opposed to David and Victoria getting back together?
Could Jacob be interested in her as well and want David to leave her alone?
It follows the actor Matthew’s announcement that he is departing the ITV soap opera as David.
The actor stated earlier this week on This Morning: “I’m so nervous about leaving, after almost two decades.”
He said that it “feels like the right time,” hinting that the character might return. They agreed not to kill me off, thus the door is left open.
“I have permission to tell you that. So who knows, we’ll have to wait and see whether I return.
Matthew bragged about his experience on the well-liked ITV program, saying, “I met my wife [Charley Webb] on the show, and we’ve had three kids.
“I have had a fantastic work for 18 years, but it has also given me family. As a result, it has played a significant role in my life.
He made a suggestion that Victoria is the reason his character decides to permanently leave the Yorkshire Dales.
I can’t give too much away, but there is somewhat of a resolution,” he teased. “He quits the village because of Victoria. Just say that.
Could Victoria possibly go against all logic and date Jacob, David’s stepson? It would put everyone involved in a very awkward situation.
It might be a bombshell enough to convince David to permanently abandon the community.
