Lincoln Younes, a former Home and Away actor, will return as John Ibrahim in the second season of the criminal drama Last King of the Cross on Paramount.

Variety was the first to confirm the continuation of the show, and there would be eight new episodes.

In season two, as Younes’s character broadens his empire beyond the seedy district of Kings Cross, the action will shift into the 2000s, drawing inspiration from notorious nightclub lord Ibrahim’s own book.

Mark Fennessy of the production firm Helium is overjoyed that the show will continue.

“After the outstanding success of season 1, we are incredibly excited for Last King of the Cross to return for an electrifying second season,” he said in his statement. “We are excited to deliver the second part of this gripping story, bigger, bolder, and even more action-packed.

“As seen by the foreign sales, Last King of the Cross has been well received internationally, which has fueled Helium’s drive to crafting suspenseful tales on a huge scale and supplying audiences with immersive and potent storylines that resonate globally.

The second season “goes above and beyond in fulfilling this commitment, taking audiences on an exhilarating journey through a world that is sexy, dangerous, and deeply human” with its “unforgettable characters, explosive action, and complex relationships.”
