This Is Your Life, the reintroduced reality television genre, will honor Home and Away actor Ray Meagher’s remarkable career on Channel Seven.
The Australian celebrity is seen crying in a preview for the show, which airs on Tuesday, October 11, as his former and current co-stars share their tales.
As the longest-serving Australian in a continuous role, Ray has played Alf Stewart in the serial opera since 1988.
Residents of Summer Bay from all over the world, including Chris Hemsworth, Danii Minogue, Georgie Parker, Ada Nicodemou, Emily Symons, and Bec Hewitt, have gathered to share their memories of Ray.
When host Melissa Doyle surprised him on the Home and Away set with the large red book, the Gold Logie recipient appeared shocked.
You’ve got to be kidding, he says to the host. I’m sorry to think about it, but we’ll have to find out what’s in there.
Chris Hemsworth, who plays Ray in the film Thor, deems Ray the “godfather of Australian television,” but breaks down in tears when he sees Kate Ritchie again.
From the time she was eight years old for 20 years, Kate played Sally Fletcher, and she tells Ray that he “means a lot to her.”
Along with “untold anecdotes,” “huge surprises,” and “pictures the star has never shared with anyone,” Melissa also teases.
Another unexpected development is the first-ever storytelling session between Ray’s wife Gilly and his stepdaughter Rebecca about the celebrity.
When they learned the news, fans were overjoyed and flocked to social media in large numbers.
