CORONATION STREET has seen the last of Jamie Kenna for the time being following recent scenes on the ITV soap but why has the actor left? has everything you need to know.

Since Jamie was cast as Phill Whittaker on Coronation Street a year ago, Fiz Stape (played by Jennie McAlpine) has a new love interest following her breakup with Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall). Over the past year, the ITV soap put the group through a lot, but when Fiz and Tyrone reconciled, the actor’s character was no longer relevant. Phill leaving the show soon after seemed inevitable, but the actor has now officially announced it.

Why is Jamie Kenna leaving Coronation Street?

On July 16, 2021, the soap star made his debut on the evening serial drama. His character was taking Fiz out on a date at the time.

In an episode that will run on July 25, 2022, Phill made his farewell physical appearance on the show earlier this week.

Jamie has addressed the reason he won’t be seen on Weatherfield’s cobblestones on social media after his farewell scenes aired.

The soap actor may be seen going by the Viaduct where his trip originally started in a video that was shared on the show’s official Twitter account.”The modern-day Jack and Vera are reunited, and I feel very honored to have played my part in that,” Jamie said to the audience.

“The ideal team members are Alan Halsall and Jennie McAlpine. I just wanted to come on here to thank everyone for their love and support for Phill and me over the past year because I’ve been so lucky “He went on.

“I’ve had the best time ever. I adore this location.” I adore this program. Big Phill with two Ls has had quite the trip “However, he hinted that his character might still have a future.
Jamie clarified: “The future? Perhaps this isn’t the end. Maybe they’ll bring him back, but for the time being, I’m saying a heartfelt goodbye. And once again, just expressing tons of love and gratitude to everyone at Corrie, to all of you for tuning in, watching, and supporting me.

Jamie remarked, “There’s no way I would have stayed for as long as I have without you and without these folks here at Corrie.

“Because of that, I’m extremely appreciative. Take care of yourself, continue to watch this show, and help it continue to exist.

“Because it is the foundation of all television in the globe, including Canadian and British television. It is simply iconic.

“Therefore, keep it going and take care of yourself. Keep yourself safe, and I’ll see you later “He added, then gave the camera a kiss.

This demonstrates that Jamie’s contract and the plot for which he was hired have come to an end, and as a result, he must go.

After clicking with Fiz last summer, their relationship developed swiftly, and they soon decided to leave the cobbles.

In the midst of all the drama, Phill’s extended family showed up, with his ex-wife Camilla (Louise Marwood) showing up on his wedding day to Fiz and his mother Mimi Halliday (Margot Leicester) squabbling with Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman).
Fiz walked down the aisle to exchange vows with the man she had only met a year earlier because she thought this was what she desired from her relationship.
She realized she still loved Tyrone the same day and ran away from her husband to be with him.

He had been attempting to defend his marriage to Fiz throughout the past two weeks, not realizing that she had already reconciled with her ex-lover.
Unfortunately for Phill, he only learned Fiz was making an effort to reconcile with Tyrone at a very awkward couple’s therapy session.
As Tyrone and Phill had developed a bromance over the previous few months, Phill felt that this was a big betrayal on both sides.
In the episode from Monday night, Evelyn advised him to let Fiz have the annulment and concentrate on moving forward with his life.

She served as a reminder to him that Camilla was still madly in love with him and that, if he pursued her, they might be able to resume their relationship.

His parting scenes were poignant as he said goodbye to the Dobbs family and for the time being, Weatherfield.

Twitter users who learned that Jamie was departing were devastated. Sheila wrote: “Please get Big Phill with Jenny!! They would be a fantastic couple for the Rovers to have together! Phill is such a wonderful character in #Corrie @SallyAnMatthews!
“Noooooo darling Phill with two LL’s was hoping he and Jenny would get together,” Jenny continued. Good luck, Jamie. Alison “So sorry to see Jamie Kenna go, what a beautiful man he seems,” Jane said. happy Fiz and Tyrone

however it would be wonderful to see Phill back and in a fresh, fulfilling relationship. Please bring Phill back to Coronation Street; he will be missed!

“Oh, very bad. I was expecting for a twist. This week’s “you were always enough for me” episode was very painful; congratulations to Jamie and best wishes for a speedy return,” Lorraine said.
