Emmerdale star Michael Parr announces big new job away from TV

The former soap star is going back to where his acting career started

Michael Parr, a former Emmerdale cast member, has revealed a brand-new, intriguing project as he returns to the comedy Rita, Sue & Bob Too, where his playing career first began.

The actor’s most well-known character is that of Ross Barton, a bad kid on the venerable ITV soap opera, which he performed from 2013 to 2018. Inside Men, Good Cop, Hollyoaks, Casualty, and the BBC daytime serial opera Doctors are just a few of the shows that the actor has previously been on television.

He participated in a violent heist at Home Farm while having an affair with policewoman Donna Windsor (Verity Rushworth), and he had an extramarital relationship with Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb), his brother’s fiancée, during which he covertly fathered a child with her.with Charity Macey, Debbie’s mother (Emma Atkins).

Ross Barton had an acid attack in 2018, leaving the character with severe scarring. According to Parr, the plot was tough. Soon later, it was reported that would be leaving the Dales.

Parr, who is a dual citizen of the US and the UK, stated that he left to pursue chances in America.

But it appears that four years after leaving the soap, Parr is going back to the beginning with his new endeavor, as he performs at St. Helens Theatre Royal, where he first appeared in the cast of Blood Brothers in 2005.

Prior to his stint on television, Parr appeared in a number of theatre performances, including Justin in Studies for A Portrait at the Oval House.

Danny in Twothousandandsex at the Drill Hall in London and Paul in The Back Room at the Cock Tavern are both actors. According to the actor, “St Helens Theatre Royal is actually where it all started for me. This is where I realized that I wanted to be a professional actor.

“Being back here makes it truly seem as though everything has come full circle; it’s an amazing sensation. I can only hope that through inspiring someone else, I may return the favor.”
