Harrison Locke from THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS was previously limited to a photo on his mother’s phone. However, that all changed on May 14, 2021, when the young child made his Y&R debut. Cute newcomer Kellen Enriquez played Tara and Ashland’s son, or more accurately, Tara and Kyle’s son! And even though Enriquez and his father were written off the soap opera before year’s end, the rising star returned in April 2022 with Kyle. However, a young Redding Munsell was added to the job in April 2024.
Even before he physically arrived in Genoa City, talk about the cute little kid had been rife (look at those cute curls!). While Kyle Abbott was residing in New York City, he had an affair with Tara Locke, Harrison’s mother. Initially, Kyle was unaware that his ex-partner had a child, but upon viewing pictures of the youngster, he was very certain that the youngster was his. especially considering that Kyle was aware Tara had not engaged in sexual activity with her husband, Ashland Locke, during their relationship! Tara asked Kyle to stop asking about her young kid, but in the end, she told her former partner that he was actually Harrison’s biological father!
Naturally, things got more complicated when Tara went to Genoa City with her husband when Ashland was in town closing a deal with Victor Newman. Tara told Kyle shortly after they arrived from New York that Ashland was definitely targeting Jabot since her husband was presumably aware of their affair. When the Lockes arrived in town, Kyle told Summer Newman, his fiancée, the truth about his relationship with Tara and the fact that Harrison was his son. Luckily for Tara and Kyle, Ashland passed away from a heart attack before he could seriously harm their respective reputations. In late April, Tara returned to Harrison from Genoa City while Ashland healed from receiving a pacemaker.As a parting gift to Kyle, Tara sent him a photo of their son and revealed that “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” was Harrison’s favorite lullaby.
Then, in May, Tara crashed Summer and Kyle’s engagement party with Harrison in tow! With Ashland planning to divorce her after learning about their affair, she convinced Kyle to claim paternity of the boy so Ashland wouldn’t be able to steal him away. Kyle moved Tara and Harrison into the Abbott mansion and filled in his family as he had a DNA test run. Once Kyle was confirmed as Harrison’s dad, he and Tara gently explained to the boy that he now had a second father. Little Harrison then became a pawn in Tara and Ashland’s divorce and related schemes. When Kyle confronted Tara about forcing Summer to leave town, she threatened to take off with Harrison, but ended up being arrested. Ashland then agreed to let Kyle take Harrison with him to Italy where they planned to live with Summer.
Harrison went to Ashland and Victoria Newman’s Tuscan wedding in October along with Kyle and Summer. During the ceremony, Ashland complimented Kyle for looking after the small child so well while he carried the ring. Then, in April 2022, Jack asked Kyle to return to Genoa City, and Harrison was there with his father. Unfortunately, Victor’s plans to force Ashland out of Genoa City quickly saw the young child utilized as a pawn.
After Ashland’s death, Kyle and Summer found it difficult to tell Harrison about it. When Diane Jenkins intervened to handle the delicate situation, a relieved Kyle informed the young man that Diane was his grandma. And as the months passed, Kyle was moved to forgive his mother for her deceit by Harrison and Diane’s closeness. Harrison also discreetly spent Christmas with Diane at the Abbott cabin after she was forced to go into hiding.
As 2023 began, Kyle objected to Summer’s wish to take Harrison to Europe for his own protection, and she reluctantly agreed to stay in Genoa City. Tensions in the Abbott house caused Kyle, Summer, and Harrison to move into the poll house. But later, Kyle and Summer split up and she moved out, assuring Harrison she would always be there for him.
After Kyle and Summer’s co-parenting arrangement with Harrison became somewhat comfortable by 2024, the youngster became averse to all possible new candidates when his nanny had to leave. They had thought of Claire Grace as a possibility when Harrison grew fond of her, but after discovering her past, they had second thoughts. After spending more time with Claire, Kyle started to change, but Summer wouldn’t let her cousin get close to Harrison.
