Mackenzie Booth from Home and Away will display a vicious side in fresh scenes appearing in the UK the following week when she makes her first visit to Salt following the passing of her partner Gabe Miller.
Just a few months after Gabe learned that his cancer had returned, Mac was heartbroken to learn that he had died earlier this month.
Felicity Newman persuades Mac to take some much-needed time off work after she attempted to deal with her loss this week by getting passionate with Kahu Parata; but, her return to Salt the following week is not without incident.
Mac is harsh with both Felicity and Xander Delaney while they work as she takes over at the restaurant once more.
Mackenzie’s short anger soon turns to tears when she enters a private space, though, as she continues to miss Gabe. She only feels worse when Xander finds Mac in her precarious position.
Mac starts to treat Xander extremely brutally and he just can’t seem to get a break around her since he feels humiliated that he saw her weeping at work.
But Mackenzie insists that Xander’s work ethic, not her own emotional state, is in doubt.
Xander and Felicity discuss their options and determine that, for the time being, it would be best for everyone if Xander kept quiet and avoided upsetting Mac.
Xander reveals some vulnerability with Mac after a day of hiding out at the restaurant, which causes her to open up a little bit in return.
While Mac continues to struggle with her emotions, may she be making progress?
The actress Emily Weir, who plays Mac, recently signed up for the 2023 season of the Australian version of Dancing with the Stars. She will soon embark on a new challenge in her own life.
