Coronation Street fans are convinced they have worked out who kidnapped Lauren Bolton after spotting a second ‘missing’ character who could be involved in the storyline
Viewers of ITV’s Coronation Street have hypothesized that a character other than Roy Cropper could be the “missing” person in relation to Lauren Bolton’s disappearance.
Since Lauren abruptly departed Weatherfield without giving any explanation and her apartment was left open, Roy has been the center of attention, and he was arrested. Although no one witnessed Lauren leave, rumors started to circulate when obedient Roy was discovered tidying up Lauren’s apartment.
But it might have just been a well-intentioned gesture that raised questions in the eyes of some and resulted in his unjustifiable imprisonment. Roy has had to put up with a barrage of unfounded allegations ever since.
This has come from both the local community and internet sleuths, who are only too willing to conjecture about the cafe owner’s purported guilt. On Twitter, though, keen viewers of Coronation Street have shared an intriguing notion.
They’ve made notice of another character who appears to have mysteriously disappeared and suggested that he or she might be connected to Lauren’s abrupt departure. Someone tweeted: “Notice how Lauren and Joel have vanished together? #corrie.
“Is there a possible link to Lauren’s disappearance with Joel?” conjectured another perceptive observer. In contrast, a different Corrie fan proposed the following hypothesis: “My theory is Joel killed Lauren on @itvcorrie because he was secretly seeing her #Corrie #WhoKilledLauren.”
Another perceptive fan, meantime, tweeted their thoughts: “#corrie I’m beginning to believe everyone who said Joel was Lauren’s covert boyfriend. 1. Since she vanished, we haven’t seen him. 2. Lauren was covered in bruises on the day that Dee-Dee dumped him.

“5. Dee-Dee is waiting to get married to marry, which would account for his relationship with Lauren. I also don’t think he’s telling the truth when he says the other woman is his wife. “I thought Joel was Lauren’s secret man, but he seems to have disappeared #Corrie,” one person said, and another joined in.
