It wouldn’t be the first time that a Coronation Street beauty was the target of a surprise engagement on the street.
Since 1999, Tina O’Brien has portrayed Sarah Barlow, an ITV soap opera regular. Sarah, who is Helen Worth’s daughter Gail Platt, has been a part of multiple major plots.
Her tenure on the cobbles has not been lacking on drama, ranging from her shocking teenage pregnancy to her numerous romantic misadventures. It’s also true that the actress’s portrayal of Sarah and her fan base have grown with time.
Fans have been gushing about Sarah on a Reddit thread where they are talking about their favorite Corrie characters. “She will always be in the top 10 best characters,” a commenter stated. “Sarah is the sexiest woman on there,” exclaimed another. A third, however, once wrote: “Sarah has to be mine.” I used to really fancy her.
However, Sarah had a very eventful year on the soap opera lately, particularly in terms of her romantic life. Fans will remember that she had an affair with Cobbles bad boy Damon Hay (Ciarán Griffiths) the previous year.
For several months, the couple was able to conceal their passionate relationship from inquisitive eyes. However, it didn’t take long for her spouse, Sam Robertson’s Adam Barlow, to learn about their relationship.

Speaking about Sarah’s relationship with Gary in the past, soap star Tina O’Brien said: “I think that Gary has possibly been the biggest rock in Sarah’s life. He knows her in a way that nobody else does, he knows all her bad bits and he loved her anyway.”
