In Coronation Street, Carla Connor (Alison King) and Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) are engaging in a perilous game as they near the truth regarding Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce).
Tim saw Stephen by the canal where Teddy’s body lies buried a few weeks earlier. After killing Teddy, Stephen is known to have placed Teddy’s body in a roofbox and dumped it into a canal.
He decided to go back to the place where Leo’s body had been found. Stephen got up early to check the murky waters of the canal as Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews) slept in order to determine whether the roofbox was still submerged.
Tim was hidden behind a bush, but Stephen was oblivious to this while it was happening. The cabbie had just finished his night shift when he spotted Stephen, and since Tim is aware of Stephen’s bad reputation, he followed and kept an eye on him. However, he was almost caught when his phone began to ring.
In other news, Carla will learn the results of a test she conducted to determine whether she has LSD in her system in upcoming episodes. Carla speculated that she had been drugged, and Roy (David Neilson) proposed this theory after that. Carla’s theories were soon validated when the clinic’s letter revealed that her hair sample had traces of LSD.
She claims to Peter (Chris Gascoyne) that she believes Rufus drugged her, but after looking over the dates of her illness, she realizes that this isn’t the case.
Carla notices something in the factory after drinking a coffee produced by Michael (Ryan Russell), who then explains that usually Stephen or Sarah (Tina O’Brien) make them.
Carla brings Stephen into the office as she realizes the truth and tells him that she will show him that he poisoned her drinks with LSD.
Carla shares her suspicions with DS Swain (Vicky Myers) at their meeting, but is disappointed when Swain says that these are just suspicions and that more solid proof is required.
While Carla looks for that, Stephen walks towards Rita’s (Barbara Knox) apartment and stops dead in his tracks when he hears the ringtone he heard at the canal, “Sexy Boy.”
What can Stephen do to keep him quiet when he turns to see Tim answering his phone and realizes with dread that Tim must have followed him that night?
What about Carla, then?
Will Stephen kill Tim and Carla if they learn the truth?
